Parent Involvement

Mentoring (Teaching)

  • As a member of Anchor, you will be a class mentor or assistant mentor. Teaching with other moms, everyone together bringing their strengths, being with the teens and kids is truly a joy. We have a great time.

​Parent Meetings

  • All members of Anchor need to attend 6 out of 8 parent meetings. Together we enjoy wonderful speakers, inspiration and community.  This will enable you to get to know the other parents that are on the same journey you are. This will also enable you to be a voting member and return the following year. Building a close group is important to us.

  • Members need to be on a committee or the board. We have a variety of different committees, this is what keeps Anchor running so smoothly.  Those committees are:

Mentor Training

We value learning, we strive to help our families continually be engaged in learning and life mission.

Each summer the mentors who are involved with the scholar classes attend a three day LEMI training in our area.  These training’s are fun and enlightening.  It is there that we are trained how to better mentors to our scholars.

As Participants in Anchor Academy various other training’s geared to leadership education are offered to through mom’s class and parent’s night.

Anchor Conference

Every few years we come together for a special 2 day training.  This conference strengthens us individually and as a commonwealth. We have inspirational speakers, classes on various homeschooling tools , ideas and recourses.  It is always a wonderful time to gather, learn and encourage each other.

Moms Classes

As often as we can, we gather together for a class together, luncheon, to learn from each other in various ways. We have had some amazing classes from making sourdough bread to homeschooling the moody teenager. We have amazing moms that are always willing to share their passions.
